In the autumn of 2013, President xi jinping put forward the initiative of jointly building the silk road economic belt and the 21st century maritime silk road in kazakhstan and Indonesia, which received high attention from the international community and positive response from many countries. Over the past five years, adhering to the principle of joint consultation, joint contribution and Shared benefits, the One Belt And One Road project has achieved fruitful results from concept to action, vision to reality, bringing new development opportunities and benefits to countries and people along the belt and road, and displaying increasingly vigorous vitality and broad prospects for development.

This is five years of deepening policy communication. One Belt And One Road international cooperation summit BBS held last may was the highest and largest multilateral diplomatic platform initiated and hosted by China since the founding of new China. By now, most of the 279 achievements in five categories have been completed or can be converted to normal work, and the rest are being implemented in an orderly way. China has signed cooperation documents on jointly building One Belt And One Road with more than 100 countries and international organizations. The "One Belt And One Road" initiative and its core concept have been included in the outcome documents of the UN, g20, apec, sco and other important international mechanisms. The "One Belt And One Road" initiative continues to build consensus on international cooperation, creating a favorable atmosphere for the joint development of "One Belt And One Road" in the international community.

It's been five years of increasing connectivity. Facility connectivity is the core content and priority area of "One Belt And One Road" construction. Over the past five years, the construction of an efficient and smooth international corridor has been accelerated, and steady progress has been made in the construction of the china-laos railway, china-thailand railway and the hungarian-serbia railway. China's trade and investment cooperation with countries along the belt and road of "One Belt And One Road" has been continuously expanded, forming a good situation of mutual benefit and win-win results. In the first half of this year, China's imports and exports of goods from countries along the belt and road reached us $605.02 billion, up 18.8 percent. New investment by Chinese companies in 55 countries along the "One Belt And One Road" line totaled $7.4 billion, up 12 percent year-on-year. At present, China and countries along the belt and road have built more than 80 overseas economic and trade cooperation zones, creating 244,000 local jobs. China-belarus industrial park has become a model of bilateral cooperation. A large number of cooperation zones, including china-laos cross-border economic cooperation zone and china-kazakhstan horgos international border cooperation center, are also being built at a faster pace.

It's been five years of growing financing. By strengthening financial cooperation, China will promote money circulation and capital financing, create a stable financing environment for the construction of "One Belt And One Road", actively guide all kinds of capital to participate in the development of the real economy and the creation of value chain, and promote the sound development of the world economy. As of June 2018, China has established RMB clearing arrangements in seven countries along the belt and road, and 11 Chinese Banks have set up 71 first-level institutions in 27 countries along the belt and road.

It has been five years of increasing people-to-people ties. Set up the "silk road" Chinese government scholarship, initiated the "One Belt And One Road" international alliance for green development initiative, and officially opened the "One Belt And One Road" official website People-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation at different levels and in various fields have brought convenience and opportunities to people's friendly exchanges and business, culture, education, tourism and other activities along the belt and road.

The One Belt And One Road initiative originated in China and belongs to the world. As President xi jinping pointed out in his recent speech at the brics business BBS conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, we will continue to push forward the development of One Belt And One Road to open up new space for economic and social development and implementation of the 2030 agenda.
